Build & Develop

East Coast

Latitude, our luxury charter boat, offers guest pick up from the waterfront, right in the heart of Hobart. As we leave the marina, views of Mount Wellington dominate the skyline, flanking the picturesque city of Hobart. Cruising down the Derwent River, guests will have a unique perspective of Hobart, its surrounds, stunning cliff faces and beaches. Marine life is abundant in the river  and we will be on watch for cormorants, penguins, seals, dolphin and sea eagles.

At the mouth of the Derwent River we wave goodbye to city and Bruny Island views, passing by The Iron Pot Lighthouse, built in 1932. The lighthouse is the second oldest in Australia and the oldest tower still operational. Bird life abounds on the rocky outcrop the lighthouse is situated on and marine life is often seen in this vicinity.

Next, Latitude will pass by the green slopes of Betsy Island and enter Fredrick Henry Bay. This bay leads us to the small fishing village of Dunalley, where we cut down on our travel time by taking a 'short cut' through the Denison canal. Traffic will stop as the bridge is raised and Latitude negotiates the narrow canal. It is exciting!

The excitement and views are just commencing as Latitude enters another beautiful bay, Marion Bay (where I have seen many whales, so keep a lookout!), and then points north up the East Coast of Tasmania. As we cruise past Maria Island, our crew will happily point out features on the island which make it such a significant landmark on this part of the journey. At Isle De Phoque, a tiny island half way between Maria Island and Schouten Islands-east coast landmarks-we will sneak in close for a look at the abundant seal life on this remote rocky outcrop. All the while we are travelling there will be coastline and islands to view which are visually stunning.

Relax in comfort and enjoy fine Tasmanian food and wine as we travel. Please note, gourmet catering is optional and the cost will be separate to that listed below. Latitude is spacious, has a comfortable lounge and plenty of storage room and the fly bridge is a great vantage point to take in the views.

Latitude will ensure your Tasmanian experience is highlighted by a sea transfer option between  Hobart and  Coles Bay.  Sea travel on your own private charter boat will enhance your holiday by offering a  unique experience and unsurpassed views of Tasmania's East Coast.
